Job Title: Database and Linux Administrator
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: GHS 8,500 - 9,500 basic per month
Remote Service Delivery team member of Operations Support Center (OSC)
Job Purpose: The Database and Linux Administrator is responsible for installation, configuration, and
maintenance of our company's databases and Linux bases systems. The Administrator will
monitor, ensure data integrity, availability, and performance, and will work closely with
Architects and application teams to optimize the environment.
Tower 1- Tower 1 of OSC consists of Database and Linux technologies at On-Prem and at AWS infrastructure. Oracle Database takes the prominent share of tasks and tickets in this team, followed by Linux, MSSQL database and other databases e.g. PostgreSQL and MySQL. We will be looking for someone with good knowledge in Oracle database and Linux , who can be further cross-trained on other database technologies. Candidates with work experience in AWS shall be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:

User management – Create, modify, Drop users.

Database and server alert monitoring and mitigation using tools like SCOM and OEM.

Database and Server Management at stand alone and Cluster (RAC) environments.

Database and Server Start/Stop and parameter configuration.

Storage management at Server and Database level. Add/mount/unmount disks at ASM systems.

Oracle Database export/Import using DataPump. Backup/recovery using RMAN.

MSSQL database creation and modification.

MSSQL database backup and restore.

Monitor database and OS performance and tune parameters for optimal performance.
Co ordination with internal/external teams and with third party vendor e.g. Oracle, Microsoft and RedHat.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree(or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in database/Linux administration or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Database (Oracle/MSSQL) and Linux(RHEL) Technologies.
- Basic understanding of database backup and recovery strategies.
- Familiarity with database and Linux performance tuning and optimization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
